Chimelong at 24th Thea Awards
The 24th Thea Awards was held in Disney Hotel in Anaheim, California on April 7th, 2018. The prestigious Thea Award is considered one of the attraction industry’s greatest honors. The awards were founded in 1994 by the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA). TEA’s annual Thea Awards Gala is an elegant, black-tie dinner event held in the spring in Los Angeles, following TEA’s annual summit.
As the the biggest representative from China and the Asian Pacific area, Guangzhou Chime Long won Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement for 3 consecutive times. The award shows great recognition for Chinese theme park and attraction brands.
We organized the event, drafted and distributed press release on the awards. We successfully secured 12 media coverage about Guangzhou ChimeLong’s winning at the Thea Awards from major media outlets. The total value of the all media coverage has reached about 1,261,311 RMB.
Detective Chinatown 2 Marketing Campaign
September 2017, Wanda Group brought Detective Chinatown 2 by director Chen Sicheng to New York City. The movie shot a dancing scene in the Times Square and incorporated many elements from the city into the film. We collaborated with Wanda Group to do the first round of international marketing campaign for Detective Chinatown 2.
Although the first film in 2015 has generated great results from both critic’s comments and the box office, Detective Chinatown 2 was not sure of its U.S. distributor at that time and they don’t have any American exhibitor/theaters’ information.
Under this circumstance, we seized the specialty that Detective Chinatown 2 was the first Chinese film completely produced by the Union and pitched it to many mainstream media outlets. As a result, we locked down influential media The Wrap and Deadline and had them wrote in-depth coverages to market the film.
The 21th Huading Awards
The Huading Awards is an entertainment award ceremony originated from China. It was organized by Tianxia Yingcai Cultural Media Co., starting in 2007. Through both TV and online broadcasting in mainland China, Hongkong and Taiwan, the event reached over 1 billion Chinese viewers. Voted by the Chinese audience, the award categories include Best Global Director, Best Global Actor/Actress, etc. On Dec. 15th, 2016, The 21st Huading Awards were held at Ace Hotel to present 11 categories. Following the 12th ceremony, this is the second time that the awards were held in Los Angeles again. Award-winning directors and actors like Natalie Portman, Mel Gibson, Hilary Swank, and Sylvester Stallone attended the event.
We received a total amount of 114 coverages from 75 Chinese press and 35 international press that we invited for The 21st Huading Awards. The total worth of the coverages is over $1,473,215. Other than inviting mainstream media to cover the event, Magidigi also drafted major marketing campaign that covers over 4,000 audiences on Facebook. The campaign not only draws massive coverage values but also attract audiences’ attention which helped Huading awards to raise its awareness and recognition internationally.
WTCF Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit 2017
WTCF(World Tourism Cities Federation) Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit is an important annual event that connects international tourism cities together through forums, panel discussions, tourism exhibitions, and conference meetings. The 5th Summit was held in downtown Los Angeles from September 19th to 20th 2017. The theme for this year’s summit is “Impact of Globalization on World Tourism City Development”. More than 30 mayors of tourism cities around the world including Beijing and Los Angeles, along with influential international tourism organizations and government officials attended the event.
The 4th THX Screening
World-class cinema technology company THX together with Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) hosted the closing ceremony of the 4th Annual China International Co-Production Film Screenings in Los Angeles on Nov. 7th, 2014. Since China has exploded into one of the biggest film markets around the world, Co-production has become the hottest topic in the film industry during the past 2 years. With huge audience base, growing number of cinemas, and great box office result each year, China seems to become a “money pot” for movies. Given the biggest advantage of co-production, which is to bypass the limitation of foreign imported film policy, co- production is the perfect way to enter the Chinese film market. The 4th Annual China International Co- Production Film Screenings include Outcast by Liu Yifei and Nicholas Cage, Oscar contender The Nightingale, Beijing Love Story, American Dreams in China, and The Grandmaster.
TCL Hollywood Micro-cinema Film Festival 2014
On Jan. 10th 2014, TCL Hollywood Micro-cinema Film Festival hosted its award ceremony at TCL Chinese Theatre. With the biggest scale and highest quality in the industry , the event not only supports and brings fresh elements to the development of Chinese micro- cinema films, but also brings Chinese micro-cinema films across the ocean to successfully showcase its innovation in technology and charisma in the young, trendy, international bran. Attending the award ceremony are Michelle Chen, Peter Chan and many other stars from the industry. The event has become the trending topic for both Chinese and American media.
It was the first time for Chinese micro-cinema films to travel across the Pacific Ocean to Hollywood, the capital of the global film industry. This milestone event has become the hottest topic in both Chinese and American society. Statistics shows that the award ceremony has received 44 coverage, including 2 video coverage, 5 articles from news agencies, and 37 internet coverage (7 of them are from electronic platform of traditional print
media) . 4 of the original media coverage are in English, and 1 in Spanish. The total value of all media coverage has reached about 2,161,280 RMB.
